U13s Do Us Proud at Inter-counties 2022

Congratulations to the four U13 JSAC athletes who were invited to represent Hampshire at the inter-county athletics event in Kingston on Sunday 24th July: Lukah Rawlin, Victoria Pinel, Zane Simpson and Izzy Gibson.  Eight counties from the south and east were represented, the sun shone and our Jersey athletes did us proud.
Lukah competed first in the 75m hurdles and achieved a personal best of 14.58s.  This placed him 2nd in his heat and 6th overall.
Victoria then competed in the javelin, throwing a furthest distance of 19.20m.  This placed her 3rd in her group and 8th overall.
Izzy had a clear run with no faults through to her final height of 1.40m in the high jump. She very nearly cleared 1.45m, but clipped it with her ankle.  This placed her in 2nd position.  Izzy then went on to compete in the relay with one Winchester athlete and two Guernsey athletes. They secured 3rd position.
Zane completed in the 1500m B race where he came 5th with 5:13.73.
The Hampshire girls’ team came 3rd overall and the boys’ team came 5th.  Victory went to Surrey for both the boys’ and girls’ teams.  An extremely enjoyable event bathed in sunshine and four very happy U13 athletes with a bright future ahead of them.  Well done, Lukah, Victoria, Zane and Izzy!
