Spartan West Park 5k results 150414
There was a decent 32 runner field in a mid-week 5k race from West Park, organised by Jersey Spartan Athletic Club recently. In sunny but windy weather, Dan Halksworth made light of the conditions to come in first, unchallenged in the quick time of 16 mins 7 secs. Teenager William Brown ran well to finish in second in 18-04, winning him the run-of-the-night award, while third place went to Lee de Ste Croix, an ultra-runner who finished in 18-12.
In the women’s race Gemma Pirouet finished strongly to claim victory in 21-23, just getting the better of Patricia Bocinosska, runner-up in 22-11 while third place went to Judith Russell in 22-45.
