The Jersey Spartan Athletic Club held a mixed terrain race of 2 laps/4 miles around Portelet Common on Thursday evening under darkening cloudy skies.

After a slow start Tony Banks took command and gradually pulled clear of his rivals, winning in a time of 22 mins 17 secs. Second place went to Nick Gorrod in 24.32. Gerry Toudic was third man home, fourth overall, finishing in 26.33, his run earning the supervet the “run of the night award”
Jo Gorrod returned to running with a victory in the women’s race as well as finishing third overall. Her time of 25.15 was enough to hold off the fast finishing Andrea Banks, second woman home in 27.01, just beating Arlene Lewis who took third in 27.23.
