It was a fantastic start to the 2024/25 cross-country series, kindly sponsored this year by Ogier. 132 member and non-members alike turned out to run in the glorious late autumn sunshine at Les Quennevais Sports Centre. A challenging course, including a section in the dunes just outside the perimeter fence, made for exciting racing in all the age groups.
As ever, the focus was on fun, a friendly atmosphere and the opportunity for everyone to participate in a Club event. However, it was also an opportunity for medals to be won and series points to be secured. There were too many good performances to mention individually, but in the senior race (covering U15 to Adults) it was Ed Carney who crossed the line first, ahead of Luke Holmes, whilst Sienna Stephens was the first female finisher.

Huge kudos to our ‘Runners of the Day’, all of whom showed particular commitment, resilience, sportsmanship or positivity in their respective races and who embody what the series is all about.
Thanks also to the tremendous group of volunteers who helped run the event on the day. We are truly grateful, and very aware that events like this do not happen without your generosity of time and spirit.
Next stop is Noirmont on 14 December! This is a fast and flat (and often windswept) course through heathland, woodland and open meadow and is definitely one not to be missed. Please encourage friends and family to sign up, as we have plenty of space for more participants!
