Hampshire Cross Country Championships

Jersey Spartan Juniors had an amazing Hampshire Championships in Southampton this weekend. Two new Hampshire champions! Gold medals to Jack Peggie U13 boys and Daniel Robinson U15 boys. A silver medal to Chloe Turmel U17 women and team bronze medal to U13 girls – Gemma Gotthard, Catherine Billington, Alice Bain and Brooke Lidster; Gemma (4th) and Catherine (8th) make the county team too as top 8 finishers. Also looking forward to representing the Hampshire team at the intercounities in Birmingham are Danielle Leerson (4th U17 women) and Ollie Terry (8th U15 boy); Ollie amazingly accomplished this feat in one shoe, after loosing the other shoe when spiked on his heel right at the start!  4 Medals and a total of 7 county team places (Jack, Gemma, Catherine, Daniel, Ollie, Chloe & Danielle)  was the best ever junior performance at this cross country. Well done to the others who also put in excellent races; David Sam Maher, David Raimbault, Yasmin Lookess, Amber O’Driscoll, Tom Ward, Phil McGuire, Hugh Percival, Elliott Dorey, Aaron Turmel.
