The last race of the Graeme Le Maistre Off-Road Aventure racing series took place at the weekend on the dunes at Les Quennevais. On a 5 lap course, early leader Elliot Dorey gradually pulled away from the competition, winning in 29 minutes 02 seconds. Runner-up was Dave Holmes (30.12) ahead of Marc Nicol (30.59). Fourth place overall went to the first female runner. Jo Gorrod (31.34) continued her good form and is looking forward to racing her Guernsey rivals, which this year will be taking place at Pont Marquet Country Park on Saturday 3rd March. Her fine showing, winning her the run of the day award. Second lady home and eleventh overall was Danielle Leerson (33.51), whilst third in 37.10 was former Great Britain Junior International Claire Forbes, who just held off Arlene Lewis who has recently been warm weather training in Australia.
Divisional wins at Les Quennevais went to a) Elliott Dorey b) Marcelo Rodrigues c) Sylvia Thompson d) Rob Benest.
Age group wins went to (men) Elliott Dorey, Jon Coote and Nick Gorrod and (women) Danielle Leerson, Jo Gorrod and Sylvia Thompson.
