FCI Limited 10 K
42 runners took part in the recent FCI (Limited) 10k road race series at Les Lavers in St. Ouen recently.
On a one-lap course, the participants were assisted by a strong wind at their backs over the first 4km of the course.
Elliott Dorey gradually drew away from the rest of the field but then went the wrong way with 3km to go. Nick Saunders & Tom Perchard called out to him and sportingly waited for him to rejoin them to continue the race. Dorey then opened another significant gap to cross the finish line first in 35min 19secs. Saunders was second in 35min 54 secs, one second ahead of Perchard in third.
Teenager Aaron Turmel finished in fourth place in 36min 14secs, the youngster’s performance winning him the run of the day award.
Jo Gorrod was the first lady to finish in 38min 41secs. However she was unimpressed with her effort, which she described as slaggish. Sylvia Thompson continues to improve after her recent operation, and despite being short, on mileage she was the second lady home in 41min 50ecs.
The next JSAC race is the half marathon on Sunday 18th November from the FB fields at 9am. Pre-entry is required & entry forms can be obtained from most sports shops.
