Fast legs on show at first local T&F event

Our first local track & field event took place on the 25th of April and showed that some of our sprinters are in great early form.  Steven Mackay followed up his great first race in Bromley with another sub-11 time, winning the senior mens 100m in 10.91.  Peter Irving showed that age is no barrier with a great 3rd in 11.40, ahead of a number of much younger athletes.  Youngster Geneva Frankson won the U13 girls race in a superb 13.69.  Charlie Le Mains won the U15/U17 race in 12.14.

Bradley Andrews-Callec continues his excellent form with a win in the 1500m in 4:10.5, fending off any challenge from local triathlete Luke Holmes who came in 2nd in 4:14.4.  Thea Thompson and Florence Williams had a great battle in the U13 race, with Thea edging ahead to take the win in 5:10.6.

Lucci Baker got a sub 60 in the women’s 400m, with 59.76, with Amelia Germain coming home in a respectable 63.30 for her first race with the Club.

On the field, Eva-Raine Clark won the high jump in 1.50m with Isabella Gibson coming second in an excellent 1.45m.

Overall, a great start to the local track & field season.  Full results are here.
