The Jersey Spartan Athletic Club held a 15k road race from Les Laveurs, St Ouen at the weekend, run in unseasonably warm and sunny conditions.

Super-vet Phil Ahier took the lead at the 5k mark from Jamie Barker and powered away to win in 54 mins 32 secs, also winning himself the “run of the day” award. Dave Ibbotson came through as runner-up in 56.59 and Bomber Lee third in 57.14.
In the women’s race Claire Malzard made a successful return to distance running and was a clear winner in 66.06. Philippa Worth came through strongly in the last 5k to take the runner-up spot in 67.40 and Mandy Evans was third in 68.57.
