Freedom Tree 10k

Spartan Freedom Tree 10k 10th April 2016

Due to high winds and high tides the JSAC Freedom Tree 10k route was changed at the eleventh hour. The 48 runners started at La Fregate café and ran to Bel Royal and back twice, thereby missing a drenching from high waves in the St Aubin area.

With times suffering due to an extremely strong easterly wind and a slightly long revised course, Dan Romeril was the winner in 36 mins 9 secs overtaking long-time leader Bruno Francisco who was second in 36-12. London marathon runner Tony Banks started slowly but moved through the field to take third place in 38-08.

Claire Wilson was the first woman home of 20 female runners in 42-21. Andrea Banks, also running London marathon in two weeks time, was runner-up in 43-47 narrowly holding off Katie Silva who was third in 43-52.
