This is a multievent competition primarily for all athletes in school year 4-9.
Athletes are required to compete in a sprint, long distance run, throw and LJ. Points are accumulated in each event and the top three scorers are given gold, silver and bronze medal. Everyone gets a certificate with their points total on it. An information flyer and application form is attached.
There is also the possibility of a couple of extra open graded races, 100m 400m 800m and LJ for senior athletes looking for qualifying standards for UK competitions. These will only be considered if we have enough officials and volunteers to support them. I also need to know asap what races seniors would like me to put on. Please contact Ross Jeffs – [email protected] for entry into one of the open races.
We cannot hold this competition without the support of parents and officials. Parent volunteers will not be asked to do anything unsupervised without a qualified official…… mostly we require parents to rake the LJ pit, make coffee, collect howler javelins etc.
Rebecca Orpin [email protected] will be co-ordinating the volunteers and officials. If we do not have enough qualified officials, our results will not be accepted by the powerof10 the UKA ranking system and our athletes results will not count in terms of qualifications.
Please let myself know if you can officiate as I need to apply for the licence and require a minimum number of officials.
