Training

Jersey Spartan Athletic club are based at FB Fields in St Clement, Jersey, where our club house is located at the athletics track.  

Training days are Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday morning when club has full use of the all-weather track.

Minis

Minis are athletes in school years 3, 4 and 5 as of 1st March, but who will go up to years 4, 5 and 6 in September (at start of the new school term).  The focus is on fitness, fun, with an introduction to athletic technique – and encouraging everybody to become involved in athletics.  Minis train once a week on a Sunday morning, during school term time, from 9:30am until 11am – Indoors at Langford Sports Hall during the winter, normally November/December to March.  Please contact  info@jerseyspartan.com to arrange a taster session.


Junior Development Group

Athletes in the U13 and U15 age groups train between 6:15pm and 7:30pm on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.  New starts are introduced through a monthly induction session – please contact info@jerseyspartan.com to arrange an induction.


Sprints, Hurdles & Jumps

Older Junior and Senior track & field athletes train between 6:15pm and 7:30pm on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and on Sunday between 10am and 11:30am.  Specific start times depend on the group you are training with – please speak to your coach for more information.


THROWS

For safety reasons, throws training starts before track training at 5pm on Tuesday & Thursday.


Endurance

Endurance track sessions are held on a Tuesday & Thursday at FB fields at 6.15pm until 7:30pm.  Hill sessions are also held outside these times.  


ROAD RUNNERS

Road runners meet on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings at 6:30pm at West Park.  Races are held throughout the year.  The emphasis is on fun and the club welcomes runners of all abilities.  For details of training, contact Dave Woodsford on 07797 889594.

Sunday road runs start at 9am from different locations (and not on race weekends).  Details appear in the Jersey Evening Post Sports Diary on Friday.
