A  grand total of 49 entries ensured a good competitive race.  The course designer Jon Coote took the race by the scruff of the neck by taking the lead from the off.   However, Coote was overhauled as the effects of a bad cold meant that he found breathing difficult and retired on the 2nd lap.  Elliott Dorey established a lead, with Tom Perchard, who has enjoyed a successful cross-country season at University, hot on his heels.  Dorey outsprinted his older rival to win in a time of 33 minutes 45 seconds with Perchard 2nd in 33 minutes and 51 seconds.  Veteran Tony Banks, having recovered from a leg injury in the Autumn 10k and also a broken arm, remained unscathed this time, finishing 3rd in 36 minutes 14 seconds.
Jo Gorrod continued her good recent form by finishing 6th overall and 1st woman home in a time of 37 minutes and 1 second.  Second place want to Felicity Johnson-Deeley, making a welcome return, in 41 minutes 28 seconds, with Arlene Lewis 3rd in 42 minutes and 10 seconds.
The next Jersey Spartan Athletic Club race is the Boxing Day fancy dress 10km race/run from the Clubhouse at FB fields on Monday 26 December at 10 a.m.  The club draw for London Marathon places will be held after the race, and the Bouley Bay Hill Climb on New Year’s Eve, Saturday 31st December, will take place at 2.30 p.mm.
