In a field of 40 Alan Angus made his move in the last 3km of the race to win in 35 minutes 15 seconds. Jamie Barker’s magnificent run to finish second, earned him the run of the day award in 35 minutes 37 seconds. He held off Super Vet Nick Gorrod who was third in 35 minutes 42 seconds. Gorrod was happy with his run and praised Barker saying. “1 don’t mind losing out in a close finish to Jamie, because he’s a nice guy!”
Nick’s wife Jo is in fine form as well at the moment. She finished 5th overall and 1st lady in a time of 36 minutes 37 seconds and was pleased with her performance. Second lady home was Andrea Banks (41.05) who picked the pace up over the latter stages, overtaking and beating young Danielle Leerson who ran a time of 42 minutes and 07 seconds.
The next JSAC event is the Graeme Le Maistre Off Road Adventure Racing Series Race at Les Quennevais on Sunday 5th February at 9 a.m.
